Bulls Pick Up Options On Tony Snell, Doug McDermott

(CBS) The Bulls have picked up their third-year option on wing Doug McDermott and fourth-year option on wing Tony Snell, they announced Friday. After the expected move, both players are now under contract through the 2016-'17 season.

McDermott was selected at No. 11 overall by Chicago in the 2014 draft. After a disappointing rookie season in which he was hampered by a knee injury and didn't play consistently enough to get regular time, McDermott is expected to see an increased role under new coach Fred Hoiberg. He's averaging 8.0 in 18.0 minutes through two games of the young season as he comes off the bench.

The 20th overall pick in the 2013 draft, Snell has started the first two games of this season with Mike Dunleavy out with a back injury. He's averaging 10.5 points in 25.5 minutes.
