(CBS) Cubs minor league outfielder Adron Chambers has been suspended 50 games for his second positive test for performance-enhancing drugs, according to reports. It wasn’t specified which drug Chambers used.
The 29-year-old Chambers finished the season at Triple-A Iowa, where he hit .280 with one homer, 30 RBIs and a .734 OPS in 88 games in 2015. Chambers last played in the major leagues in 2013, with the Cardinals.
There have been 92 suspensions this year under the minor league program, including 34 for drugs of abuse, the Associated Press reported.
