CHICAGO (CBS) — Police were investigating the death of a baby girl whose beaten body was found outside an apartment building in Uptown late Wednesday night.
A man visiting his girlfriend at an apartment building in the 800 block of West Eastwood Avenue found the child in the middle of a fall storm around 11:45 p.m. Wednesday. He rushed the baby inside, and security called police. The baby was pronounced dead at Weiss Memorial Hospital, less than a block away.
On Thursday, the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office said the baby died of multiple blunt force injuries. The case is considered a homicide.READ MORE: Chicago Weather: Rain Coming As Work Week Begins
