(CBS) Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning will be sidelined for Sunday’s game against the Bears, Denver coach Gary Kubiak told reporters Monday afternoon. Manning has a partially torn plantar fascia in his right foot, according to reports.

Fourth-year pro Brock Osweiler will make his first career start in Manning’s place. Osweiler was 14-of-24 for 146 yards with one touchdown and one interception in relief of Manning in a 29-13 loss to the Chiefs on Sunday. Osweiler has never played a single snap of a first quarter in an NFL regular-season game, according to ESPN.
