Increased Security At Soldier Field For Bears Game

CHICAGO (CBS) -- We continue to feel the fallout from the Paris attacks here in Chicago.

Stadiums across the world have increased their security. Sunday is the first time since the massacre we see what that looks like for a Bears game.

CBS 2's Jeremy Ross reports it won't be a typical football Sunday here in the Windy City. Tens of thousands are expected here, and the Bears say to expect spending more time in lines getting in.

Other stadiums have echoed those thoughts as well. Security has recently been heightened at the United Center.

The Bears issued a statement encouraging fans to get to Soldier Field earlier than normal to avoid gridiron gridlock into the stadium before kickoff against the Broncos.

The team didn't give security specifics, but the NFL said expect more security inside and outside, more coordination with local law enforcement and strict review of the league's bag policy.

Only clear, plastic, vinyl or PVC bags smaller than 12-by-6-by-12 inches will be allowed in. It's also fine to bring a gallon plastic freezer bag as well as a clutch with a shoulder or wrist strap, and those bags can be no larger than 4.5 by 6.5 inches.

Overall, the Bears encourage fans not to bring in any bags. Bags are limited to one per person and all items in the bag are subject to search.
