Kane Extends Point Streak As Blackhawks Beat Predators, 4-1

CHICAGO (AP) — Patrick Kane extended his point streak to 23 games with an empty-net goal with 1:36 left, and the Chicago Blackhawks beat the Nashville Predators, 4-1, on Tuesday night.

Teuvo Teravainen and Andrew Shaw each had a goal and an assist for Chicago, and Corey Crawford made 36 saves. Dennis Rasmussen scored in his NHL debut.

Kane's 17th goal was his 600th NHL point. The winger, who entered as the NHL's leading scorer, has 14 goals and 23 assists during his franchise-record streak.

Eric Nystrom scored for Nashville in its first meeting with Chicago since the Blackhawks won their first-round playoff series in six games last spring.

Pekka Rinne blocked 20 shots for the Predators, who were coming off a 3-2 victory at Boston on Monday night.
