It Stinks To Be Single In Chicago, Study Finds

CHICAGO (CBS) -- It's hard to be single in Chicago, according to a new study.

And, before we go any further, it's hard to be married, too.

So, take heart, single Chicago!

WalletHub found that Chicago ranks near the bottom nationally when it comes to quality of life for single mingling.

Of the 150 U.S. cities studied, the city ranks No. 133. Aurora, the state's next-largest city, is even worse, coming in at No. 141.

Chicago was dinged for being an expensive place for those typical first dates--dinner and a movie. ("Netflix and chill" doesn't count.)

The city is rated as among the most expensive places for restaurants (No. 15) and movies (No. 8). It also rated poorly for online dating opportunities.

According to WalletHub, more than half of American adults are currently single.

The five best places to be for singles are:

1. Salt Lake City, UT
2. Orlando, FL
3. Tempe, AZ
4. Atlanta, GA
5. Scottsdale, AZ

Yonkers, N.Y. was found to be the worst city for singles.
