(CBS) The Chicago Blackhawks have loaned defenseman David Rundblad to the ZSC Lions of Switzerand’s National League A, the team announced Sunday.
Last week, the Blackhawks assigned the 25-year-old Rundblad to the Rockford Icehogs in the AHL and called up defenseman Erik Gustafsson. Rundblad has appeared nine games this season with the Blackhawks, recording two assists.
Rundblad has played three seasons with the Blackhawks and appeared in five postseason games last year when they won the Stanley Cup.
The Blackhawks signed Rundblad to a two-year deal last offseason, with an average annual salary of $1 million.
