Bulls' Joakim Noah Undergoes Left Shoulder Surgery
(CBS) Bulls center Joakim Noah underwent left shoulder surgery Tuesday morning, coach Fred Hoiberg said.
The surgery went as planned, and Hoiberg has indicated that Noah should make a full recovery in due time.
"It was a 100 percent success," Hoiberg said.
Noah suffered a dislocated left shoulder in a loss to the Mavericks last Friday and has been ruled out four to six months, meaning he's out for the remainder of the regular season and almost certainly the entirety of the playoffs. It was the second left shoulder injury of the season for Noah, who initially suffered a slight tear there on Dec. 21 and then missed three weeks. He was only in his fourth game back before suffering the dislocation.
Noah is set to start his rehab Wednesday.
Noah had averaged 4.3 points and 8.8 rebounds in what's been a tough season professionally, as he was demoted from a starting role to the second unit. Noah's set to be an unrestricted free agent this summer.
In other Bulls injury news, reserve guard Kirk Hinrich will miss Wednesday's home game against the league-leading Warriors with a left quad contusion. He's expected to be out four or five more days, Hoiberg said, which means he'll likely miss road games Friday and Saturday as well.
Hinrich suffered his injury last Friday and sat out Monday's win at Detroit.
