Neighbor Samuel McIntire heard the shots. He says after a while he went downstairs, but didn’t think too much about it at first, thinking it was probably fireworks.

“I wasn’t even that curious,” said McIntire. “I guess that’s because it’s not the neighborhood for something like that to happen.”

But now that he knows it did happen in his neighborhood, he says, “Morons will be morons. It seems like it’s pretty isolated… and (he) just…wanted to play with (his) toy.”

27-year-old Peter Vitale is charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm and reckless discharge of a firearm. The first charge alone carries a penalty of 4 to 15 years in prison.
