Activist Protest TIF Funds For Planned Uptown High-Rise Development
(CBS) -- About fifty activists marched from the site of a planned high-rise development in the Uptown neighborhood that would get $16 million in tax Increment financing dollars to the mayor's house to demand he put a stop to the deal, reports WBBM's Mike Krauser.
The activists are protesting a planned luxury high-rise development at the site of a former hospital at Clarendon and Montrose that would be subsidized with taxpayer funds.

Andy Thayer had a message for the mayor.
"And your opinion polls that are already in the toilet are just going to go further down into the sewer because people in this town have been awoken to the rip-off," he said.
Some carried signs demanding that Mayor Rahm Emanuel resign.
"This property faces the lakefront, it's the last huge piece of undeveloped land on Lincoln Park," said Alan Mills of the Uptown People's Law Center.
Police allowed the demonstrators to march west to the mayor's home in the middle of Montrose Avenue.
