(CBS) — The search continues for a third day in the apparent drowning of an East Aurora High School student, reports WBBM’s Bob Roberts.

On the south side of the channel leading to and from Diversey Harbor, police continue to work with a portable sonar unit. On the rocks to the north of the channel, 30 family members watch quietly, including victim Ivan Echevarria’s mother, who broke off a vacation when she received the news.

Cousin Lissette Diaz says Ivan was the golden child, an honor student and someone who was always curious.

“He was always a go-getter and not fearful of things and unfortunately sometimes nature takes its course and nature wins,” she said.
