In Viral Video, Young Woman Gives Man Who Raised Her The Ultimate Gift: Adoption Papers

A stack of papers may not sound like an exciting birthday gift, but for one father, the documents he received were the perfect gift.

According to a viral Facebook video, the papers in question came from Misty Nicole Knight, who is originally from Joliet, Illinois, but now resides in New York. They were given to Ryan Farrell, the man who helped raise her. They were adoption papers.

Farrell's response was documented on a video posted to Knight's Facebook.

The video starts with Farrell opening a letter from Knight and reading: "You raised me my whole life, from putting my hair in tight Princess Leia buns ... going to Warped Tour and even our first rock concert together, leading up to us laughing at cats wearing leggings. I know we are so weird together, but that's what makes you you and I can't imagine not having you in my life."

So everyone has been waiting for this but I finally asked the man that raised me to adopt me ❤️ love you with all my heart and can't wait to be a FARRELL ???? Ryan Farrell

Farrell then opens a succession of goofy gifts, from Superman vs Batman pajamas to Swedish Fish candy.

Eventually, he gets to the adoption papers.

Understandably, the gift brings Farrell and Knight -- soon to be a Farrell herself -- to speechless tears.

"I've been wanting to do that forever," Farrell says at the end.
