(STMW) — A 13-year-old boy was wounded in a shooting Saturday evening in the Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood on the South Side.

He was crossing the street just after 8 p.m. in the 7300 block of South University when three males got out of a white car and at least one of them began to fire shots, according to Chicago Police.

He suffered gunshot wounds to both legs and was taken to University of Chicago Medicine Comer Children’s Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, police said.
