(CBS) The Blackhawks have signed 19-year-old defenseman Gustav Forsling to a three-year deal, they announced Wednesday.
Forsling had 21 points (six goals, 15 assists) in 48 games last season for Linkoping HC of the Swedish Hockey League. He’s considered one of the organization’s top prospects.
A native of Likoping, Forsling played for Sweden at the 2016 World Junior Championship, leading all defenseman in the tournament in points. He was acquired by the Blackhawks in a January trade with the Canucks that sent defenseman Adam Clendening to Vancouver.
