North Chicago School Guard Jailed After Abusing Student In His Home

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A security guard at North Chicago Community High School is in jail after police say they found a student in his home who'd been missing from her family for almost three weeks.

It was April 19 when the 17-year-old student was reported missing.

North Chicago Police Commander Luis Rivera says security guards at the girl's school were told to be on alert.

One of those security guards alerted was 35-year-old Otis Bishop.

"We believe that once the school told them that the juvenile was missing - to check if she showed up to class - he was one of the security guards who actually went to the classes to try to look for her - all while he knew she was at his residence," Rivera said.

Rivera says the girl's family heard from friends who thought they'd seen her around the area where Bishop lives.

On May 7, Rivera says police found her in Bishop's home.

He says the girl had not been kidnapped.

Bishop is being held on $500,000 bond, charged with two felonies, including criminal sexual assault of a minor and aggravated criminal sexual abuse.
