White Sox Place Reliever Zach Putnam On 15-Day DL
(CBS) The White Sox have placed right-handed reliever Zach Putnam on the 15-day disabled list with ulnar neuritis in his right elbow, they announced Tuesday.
In a corresponding move, Chicago recalled right-hander Chris Beck from Triple-A Charlotte.
Putnam was removed from Monday night's win against the Red Sox after he walked three batters to lead off the ninth inning, a jam that Zach Duke then got out of. Putnam is 1-0 with a 2.30 ERA in 25 appearances this season.
The 25-year-old Beck has a 4.47 ERA at Triple-A this season. He had two stints with the White Sox in 2015.
