Chicago Woman Finds Folded Law Degree in a Book About Cats

By Wendy Widom

CHICAGO (CBS) — The search is on for a lost lawyer, or at least a person with a law degree.

When Rachael Perrotta of Chicago received the book "Why Cats Paint" as a gift from a good friend, she had little idea it contained a hidden mystery.

This afternoon, she tweeted a photo of her cat enjoying the book.

Moments later, leafing through the pages herself, Perrotta found a diploma from Hamline University School of Law, awarded to Kevan Hayward Truman in 1986.

In an effort to reunite the diploma with the man who ostensibly earned it, Perrotta reached out to a person on Facebook who has the same name.

So far, she has not heard back.

If you know Kevan, tell him his law degree has been found.
