Father, Two Girls Dead After Hazel Crest Police Respond To 'Shots Fired' Call

(CBS) – A father and two children are dead after police responded to a shooting early Saturday, police in south suburban Hazel Crest said.

Police say they received a call of "shots fired" in the 2400 block of Crescent Drive around 2:30 a.m. Officers and paramedics arrived at a residence and rendered aid to three victims, a father and two children. Neighbors say they heard loud noises.

The three were transported to area hospitals and pronounced dead, police said. They were identified by the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office as adult Dionus M. Neely, 39; and two girls, Endia Neely, 3, and Elle Neely, 10.

Police handed out sheets to neighbors asking them to call police if they have information but did not offer additional details to the media.

The South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force is working with the Hazel Crest Police Department, officials said.
