Warm And Muggy Week, With Several Chances For Rain

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Showers and storms could come and go most of this week, starting with the chance for thunderstorms early Wednesday morning.

Conditions should be mostly calm through late Tuesday night, but then a line of storms could make for a mess for early morning commuters on Wednesday.

The National Weather Service storm prediction center has put the Chicago area at a marginal risk for severe storms, which likely means severe storms will be isolated at best.

By 8 a.m. Wednesday, most of the storms should have cleared out, leaving mostly scattered shower activity to the south and west of the Chicago area.

Some pop-up storms could bring more precipitation Wednesday afternoon.

Thursday and Friday also bring slight chances for showers and storms.

The week also will be a warm and muggy one, with highs in the upper 80s to low 90s through Friday.

The weekend should be a bit milder and dry, with clear skies and highs in the low 80s.
