Chicago Toddler's Death Brings Life To Other Children

CHICAGO (CBS) — Local parents are helping give the gift of life through organ donation after their two year old was hit and killed by a car.

Xavier Bahena died four days after he was struck by a car in Back of the Yards neighborhood.

"We decided that it would be the best option because it would be helping other people," said Xavier's mother, Cristina Martinez, about donating her son's organs.

Xavier's heart and liver have already been matched and donated.

The family has created a GoFundMe page and is asking for donations to help pay for Xavier's burial.
