(CBS) —A baby’s body was found Monday afternoon in a wooded area in unincorporated DuPage County, and authorities are asking for the public’s help.

The deceased newborn was found inside or near a duffel bag or backpack along a private road off Plamondon Road, according to neighbors who talked with police. The area is near Wheaton.

Neighbors say landscapers found the baby’s remains, and police arrived around 2 p.m. and blocked roads.

The DuPage County Sheriff’s Department says anyone with information should call 630-407-2400.
