Toddler Reunited With Mom After Carjacking

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A 3-year-old boy has been safely reunited with his family, after he was abducted in a carjacking early Tuesday in the Buena Park neighborhood.

Police said a 39-year-old man was delivering newspapers around 5 a.m., with the 3-year-old boy in the back seat, when a white Nissan pulled up behind him on Marine Drive, just north of Irving Park Road. A young man got out of the Nissan, got into the victim's car, and drove away.

The toddler was later dropped off in front of Northwestern Memorial Hospital, still in his car seat.

The boy was later reunited with his mother at the hospital, and was unharmed.

Area North detectives were investigating.
