Teenager Ditches Smartphone, And The Stress, For A Flip Phone

(CBS) -- With constant Snapchatting, texting and Instagramming, the life of a high school kid can get pretty stressful.

One New York teenager decided to take the advice of another legendary, although fictional kid: Ferris Bueller, who famously said, "Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it."

WCBS 880 Radio's Sean Adams reports that when Janie Litvin's smartphone shattered, she decided to trade it in for the technological Stone Age equivalent--the flip phone.

"If you're a teenage girl, having an iPhone can be very stressful. You'll turn away from your phone and you'll come back five minutes later and you'll have 200 messages and 10 Snapchats, and like 15 notifications on Facebook. And just– it's a lot. I just thought it was too much," she told Adams.
