Woman Struck, Killed While Jogging In Norwood Park

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A woman was fatally struck by a vehicle while jogging Tuesday morning in the Norwood Park neighborhood.

CBS2's Irika Sargent reports Cynthia Tatman, 56, of Chicago, was running eastbound in the westbound lane in the 6300 block of West Devon just after 7 a.m., when a car swerved to avoid hitting her.

The next car was unable to react in time and struck the woman.

The jogger was taken to Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, where she was pronounced dead, police said.

The driver remained on the scene.

Investigators are determining whether citations will be filed against the driver, police said.
