4 Charged In Laptop Theft At Crown Point Tattoo Parlor

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Four people suspected in the theft of a laptop computer on Sept. 14 were each arrested on a charge of felony theft in Crown Point, Ind.

About 2:50 p.m. on Sept. 14, Tyree T. Johnson, 26, Jayla Owens, 22, and Kenneth Andrews, 27, entered the Blacklisted tattoo parlor, located 1003 E. Summit St. with plans to steal a laptop computer from the store. All three suspects live in Chicago, according to Crown Point police.

Johnson, Owens and Andrews had been to the store on Sept. 13 to sell cleaning products to the owner of the business and noticed a $2,500 laptop computer. When they returned to the store, Johnson distracted the employees while Owens and Andrews placed the laptop computer into a green backpack, police said.

They left the store in a white Ford Taurus driven by Kalisha Howard, 22, of Harrisburg, Penn., police said.

An investigation led officers to Red Roof Inn in Merrillville, Ind. where they found the laptop computer in the bushes, police said.

Their court information was not provided.
