3 Dead, 1 Injured In Far South Side Crash

CHICAGO (CBS) – A motorcycled crashed Monday night into an SUV near the Illinois/Indiana State line, on Chicago's East Side, resulting in three people killed and a woman critically injured.

A motorcycle was traveling eastbound around 10:20 p.m. on South Indianapolis Avenue, when the driver ran a red light causing the bike to crash into a SUV traveling westbound, police said. The motorcycle t-boned the SUV, as it was attempting to turn left on South Avenue B, police said.

First responders arrived Monday night around 10:20 p.m. at the scene to find three people dead.

The driver of the SUV, a 28-year-old woman survived the crash. She was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn. Her condition has since been stabilized.

Jamie Trickle, 35, who was a passenger in the SUV, was pronounced dead at the scene at 11:50 p.m., according to police and the Cook County medical examiner's office. She lived in the 1700 block of West North Shore Avenue.

Investigators said the motorcyclist may have been speeding.

Two males on the motorcycle, whose ages were not immediately known, were also pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said. Their names have not yet been released.

CPD major accidents unit has taken over the investigation.

There is no word of any possible citations, police said. Check back for updates.
