CHICAGO (CBS) — A school was placed on lockdown Thursday in Chicago’s East Garfield Park neighborhood after a student was found with a gun.

Police responded Thursday afternoon, around 2:30 p.m. to a call of a person with a gun at a school in the 500 block of North Sacramento.

The school, believed to be West Town Academy, was placed on lockdown.

A weapon was recovered from inside the school and the lockdown was over by about 4 p.m., police said. A male student was taken into custody and charges were pending Thursday afternoon.
