CHICAGO (CBS) — Cook County prosecutors say a 58-year-old woman attacked by a longtime neighbor knocked the man out with a glass mug and a crowbar after he broke into her West Side home Monday and demanded sex.
When the victim fought back, 30-year-old Dorval Grice fell off her and onto the woman’s bed Monday morning, Assistant State’s Attorney Bryan Grissman said.READ MORE: FDA Recommends 'Pause' For Johnson & Johnson Vaccine To Review Blood Clot Cases
Authorities found him there in the woman’s ransacked room after she called 911, Grissman said at Grice’s bond hearing on Tuesday.
Police arrived at the home, in the 1300 block of South Throop, and saw the woman on her porch, wearing a robe and covered in blood, Grissman said.
Grice’s mugshot shows him with a bandage under one eye, wearing a shirt bearing the name of boxing legend Muhammad Ali.
The woman had been sleeping in her bedroom at 6:30 a.m. when Grice climbed into the home through an unlatched living-room window, Grissman said.

When she refused, Grice allegedly started punching her, then asked her to perform a sex act on him.
As Grice continued the assault, ripping off the woman’s underwear, she begged for her life and urinated on him to get him to stop, Grissman said.
At some point, the woman was able to grab the glass from her nightstand and hit Grice. She also hit him with the crowbar she kept by her bed for protection, Grissman said.
The victim was taken to an area hospital where a sexual assault evaluation was conducted. She had bruises and bumps on her body and abrasions on her knees, Grissman said.
Grissman said the victim had lived on the same block as Grice since he was born. But a police report gave Grice’s address as the 2700 block of West 26th Street.
Grice is a reputed gang member, according to the report.MORE NEWS: Man In Serious Condition After Stabbing At Blue Line Pulaski Station
Judge Maria Kuriakos Ciesil ordered Grice held in lieu of $250,000 bail on charges of home invasion and aggravated criminal sexual assault.
