Women Gets Cubs Tattoo After Boyfriend Proposes At Cubs Game

CHICAGO (CBS) – Chicago Cubs fans dedicate a huge portion of their hearts to the team. Some may even take their love a step further.

A woman marks both her love of the Chicago Cubs and new engagement with a Cubs tattoo, after her tattoo artist finance proposed to her at a game.

The tattoo is a sign of their union, CBS 2's Vince Gerasole reports.

"The Cubs have been a big part of our life," said Kevin Barrett, tattoo artist at Tattoo Factory in Chicago's Uptown neighborhood. "This is like a snapshot of that."

It is a snapshot of not only their engagement, but a permanent mark of the team they love.

"Out of all the tattoos I have," said Charlotte Prentki. "This is probably the most meaningful."

Barrett said he owns Cubs blue ink, that he pulls out for every tattoo.

"I just tell myself the pain is worth it right now," Prentki said.

Prentki works in advertising. Now she will be a living advertisement of how the Cubs keep her and her fiancée together.

"I had the ring in my pocket," Barrett said. "I thought for sure she had seen it, so I was really nervous during the game."

But Prentki said she had no idea what was going on. She just knew that Barrett was stressed because he was "eating peanuts like I had never seen before."

The tattoo resembles an eagle with a 'W' flag, captioned 'Go Cubs Go.'

"Getting engaged is one of the biggest moments in my life," Prentki said.

The couple hopes that the Cubs will advance to the World Series and win, marking another big moment in their life.

"We hope it's good juju for the Cubs," Barrett said.
