(CBS) For 71 years, Cubs fans had been waiting to hear it.
On Saturday night, radio play-by-play man Pat Hughes delivered the call on 670 The Score — “The Cubs are going to the World Series! The Cubs win the pennant!”
Listen below to Hughes’ call of the game-ending double play that sealed the Cubs’ 5-0 win against the Dodgers in Game 6 of the National League Championship Series, sending the team to its first World Series since 1945.
