(CBS) Washington State football coach Mike Leach has always been one to share his mind, and amid the World Series, he has a cross-sport take chiming in on the Cubs.

At a press conference earlier this week, Leach emphasized he has great respect for manager Joe Maddon but then went on a mini-rant, saying there’s “too many Cubs fans.”

“Every yuppie with a BMW or some special attachment to his computer or some designer set of jeans or something like that is a Cubs fan and refers to it as ‘my Cubbies,'” Leach said. “Any time you say ‘my’ in front of your team, well, that’s dubious, OK? ‘My this, my that’ — come on now. And so you get ‘my Cubbies.’ You don’t get ‘my Indians.’

“There’s just too many out-of-the-woodwork people that like them, just like them because they like the uniforms, don’t know the first thing about baseball.”

Game 2 is set for Wednesday night at 6:08 p.m., with the Indians leading the series 1-0. The hometown call can be heard on 670 The Score.
