CHICAGO (CBS) — A man was shot and critically wounded early Friday while driving on Lake Shore Drive near Grant Park.

At 1:26 a.m., officers responded to a call of a person shot in the northbound lanes near Grand and found the 41-year-old in the driver seat of a white conversion van, according to Chicago Police.

He had been shot in the face near Monroe, police said. He was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in critical condition, police said.
