(CBS) Bears guard Kyle Long will miss the remainder of the season with a right ankle injury that he suffered in Sunday’s road loss to the Buccaneers, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported Monday.

The exact nature of the injury hasn’t been revealed, but Rapoport’s report cited the MRI confirmed Long needs to miss the team’s final seven games. On Sunday, Long had his right ankle rolled up on a shovel pass to fullback Paul Lasike. Medical personnel put his leg in an aircast.

A three-time Pro Bowler, Long was already dealing with a painful, nagging injury, playing through a torn labrum in his left shoulder.

Veteran Ted Larsen took Long’s place at guard Sunday after he left the game.
