Two Women Found Dead In Plainfield Of Carbon Monoxide Poisoning

(CBS) – An incidence of carbon monoxide poisoning has left two women dead in southwest suburban Plainfield, and several responding police officers were treated for exposure to the poisonous gas.

Plainfield police say officers were sent to a home Monday in the 12700 block of Shelly Lane for a well-being check and found a 65-year-old woman and a 29-year-old woman dead inside, of apparent carbon monoxide poisoning. Three animals also were found dead.

Five Plainfield police officers were transported to Rush Copley Hospital in Aurora to be treated for exposure to carbon monoxide, police said.

An investigation continues in the southwest suburb.
