Maggie Daley Skating Ribbon Opens Friday After Weather Delay

CHICAGO (CBS) -- The day has finally come, though the weather is still mild for this time of year.

Chicago's Maggie Daley Skating Ribbon opened Friday, Nov. 25 after a delayed opening from the warmer weather min-November. The original open date was scheduled for last Friday, Nov. 18, which is when Millennium Park's McCormick Tribune Ice Rink opened - regardless of the seasonably warm weather. WBBM's Mike Krauser reports.

The rink will be open 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 25 and will remain open through the winter season until the first week of March, weather permitting.

Skating is free and open to the public. The rink offers skate rentals for $12 Monday through Thursday and $14 Friday through Sunday and on holidays.

The Maggie Daley Skating Ribbon hours:
- Mondays–Thursday: Noon – 8 p.m.
- Fridays: Noon – 10 p.m.
- Saturdays: 10 a.m. – 10 p.m.
- Sundays: 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.

*The rink will have special holiday hours.

Ice skate rentals stop 30 minutes before close.

New This Year, Coming In December:
The Maggie Daley Skating Ribbon will offer $35 fast passes which include skates and locker for one person. There will also be a $90 package, which includes skates for two, lockers for two, tumblers with hot chocolate, and fast passes. The quantities of passes are limited and are only sold during rink hours.
