Meet Chicago's Mr. And Mrs. Klaus

(CBS) -- At one Chicago home, the elves are busy, getting Christmas gifts ready for dozens of low-income families.

CBS 2's Jim Williams tells us the charitable effort is led by an extraordinary couple.

Do you doubt Santa's Workshop is real? Here's your proof at this Mom and Pop operation.

For 16 years now, Jennifer Jones and Matt Beresh, wife and husband, have distributed thousands of gifts to needy families.

The generosity starts at Chicago's main post office, when Jennifer and Matt pick up letters to Santa.

They follow up with phone calls. Then donors buy gifts and drop them off at the Jones-Beresh home.

Other volunteers start wrapping, including Matt's mom.

In the days before Christmas, Matt and Jennifer will personally deliver every single present all over the city.

Given the scope of the mission, they sometimes tell themselves, "This is the last year." But they always continue.

"It's bigger than us at this point," Jennifer says.
