Woman Fondled, Robbed In Her Bucktown Apartment

CHICAGO (CBS) --A woman was attacked in her own apartment by an intruder with a gun.

Police are trying to find that man and learn more about how he go into her home.

The incident happened late New Year's day in Bucktown.

A lot of young families and young professionals live in the neighborhood, which is walking distance from the popular intersection of Milwaukee, Damen and North.

Police said a man broke into her apartment late Sunday night.

The victim in 31-years old. She was alone in her home in the 2100 block of West Concord in the Bucktown neighborhood.

Police said the armed man tired her up, robbed then fondled her before taking off.

The suspect was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and light blue jeans. He was described as a black man with a handgun, standing about 6-feet tall and weighing 170 pounds, police said.

Residents who live on the same block are reacting to the news.

"Just made me a little concerned," said Ally Perko. "Lock doors at night, maybe before I didn't always do that."

"Upcoming area, shocker and asinine in some sense," said Ikram Alam. "We'll have to be extra vigilant and cognizant of our surroundings. If she parks away, I come and escort her, and vice versa. Always a pair of us together."

No one is in custody but police say they are investigating.
