Three Shot At Richton Park Bowling Alley

RICHTON PARK (CBS) -- Three people are in custody after three people were shot early Sunday at a bowling alley in south suburban Richton Park.

Officers responded about 1:30 a.m. to a call of shots fired at Lakewood Bowl, 5125 Sauk Trail, where they found two people suffering from gunshot wounds, according to a statement from Richton Park police.

A third victim drove himself to the hospital, police said. Two of the victims were treated and released, and the other remained hospitalized in critical condition as of Sunday afternoon.

One witness said he heard up to nine shots. Glass doors at the entrance to the building were shatted by the gunfire.

Residents tell CBS 2's Lauren Victory that the bowling alley is typically a safe place, with bowlers using the facility at all hours.

"I have a couple of friends who bowl there, daytime and nighttime" said Lonnell Poole. "I have never heard of any problems."

All three people are being treated for gunshot wounds, but additional details were not provided.

Lakewood Bowl's manger, Christopher Craemer said: "It's safe to come to Lakewood Bowl. We have your best interests at heart and that we will do everything we can to make sure this doesn't happen again."

Three people were in custody Sunday morning and the investigation is ongoing, police said.

Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to contact the Detective Division at (708) 283-6393 ext. 427.
