West-Side Rapper Stabbed To Death Near Metra Tracks In River West

(CBS) --Chicago police interviewed a person of interest after a 24-year-old man was found fatally stabbed west of Chicago's Loop Wednesday afternoon.

Security video shows someone pulling out a sharp object and starting a fight with Walter Long Jr. around 3:15 p.m. in the 400 block of North Clinton.

Long suffered a laceration to his upper left torso. According to authorities, he was pronounced dead at the ground-level Metra tracks on Clinton at 3:52 p.m. He lived in the West Side Austin neighborhood.

According to the Chicago hip-hop blog Fake Shore Drive, Long was a rapper and founding member of PVOT Gang. He performed as dinnerwithjohn. His last performance was on Jan. 6 at Lincoln Hall on the North Side.

Police spent hours at the scene, closing two blocks of Clinton and taping off the nearby L exit.

The person police questioned ended up at the University of Illinois hospital with facial injuries, a source tells CBS 2. He was later taken into custody.
