Bears Sign WR Titus Davis Following Weekend Tryout

By Chris Emma--

(CBS) The Bears have signed receiver Titus Davis to the roster, a move made Sunday shortly after his weekend tryout came to a conclusion.

Davis, a native of Wheaton, worked out with the Bears at their weekend minicamp on a veteran tryout. He abruptly retired from football last year during training camp with the Jets.

The 24-year-old Davis entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2015 and has spent time in the offseasons with or on the practice squad of the Chargers, Jets and Bills. He is the brother of Corey Davis, the Titans' fifth overall selection in this past draft.

The Bears also hosted veteran running back Denard Robinson on a tryout at rookie minicamp. The former All-American quarterback at Michigan, Robinson has played four seasons at running back with the Jaguars.

In a corresponding move, the Bears waived receiver Levonte Whitfield.
