CPS Drops Suit Against State

CHICAGO (CBS) -- The Chicago Public Schools system has agreed to drop its lawsuit against the state over education funding.

The suit accused the sate of using separate and unequal systems for funding for public education. It asserted that violated the civil rights of Chicago's predominantly minority student population.

The dismissal was made without prejudice, meaning Chicago Public Schools can choose to refile the case.
