(670 The Score) The White Sox have acquired minor league infielder Jose Rondon from the Padres in exchange for cash considerations.

Rondon, 23, hit .293 with seven homers, 49 RBIs, 44 runs and a .788 OPS in 78 games in time split mostly between Double-A and Triple-A in 2017. San Diego had designated him for assignment over the weekend.

Rondon originally signed with the Angels as a non-drafted free agent in January 2011.

The White Sox’s 40-man roster now sits at 40 players.
