One Dead In Lincoln Square Fire

CHICAGO (CBS) -- At least one person has died in an apartment fire Tuesday afternoon in the Lincoln Square neighborhood.

Fire Department officials said there were flames on all three floors of the building in the 2400 block of West Gunnison Street.

According to the fire department, there was at least one confirmed fatality. Crews had been searching the third floor for a person who reportedly was trapped.

Firefighters found a body of a male in the attic of the three unit home. He was trapped as the fire raged below him.

A woman and her dogs were rescued by a neighbor from the attic, Roseanne Tellez reports.
