14-Year-Old Boy Gravely Injured By Exploding Firework
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A 14-year-old boy was critically injured Thursday night when a firework blew up in his face in the East Side neighborhood.
Police said the boy was lighting the firework around 8:05 p.m. near 108th and Avenue G, when it exploded in his face.
The victim suffered severe facial trauma, and was taken to the University of Chicago trauma center in critical condition.
