Three Hospitalized After Unknown Chemical Sprayed At Peninsula Hotel

CHICAGO (CBS)--Three women were taken to the hospital Tuesday night after an unidentified substance was sprayed near the Peninsula Hotel, police said.

Several ambulances were dispatched to the 700 block of North Rush Street shortly before 9 p.m., according to the Chicago Fire Department.

The conditions of the people hospitalized following the incident were unknown.

The Chicago Fire Department said fire officials were investigating whether the substance was mace.
