WHEATON, Ill. (AP) — A suburban Chicago banker has been sentenced to four years in prison for stealing more than $325,000 from elderly customers’ accounts.
A DuPage County judge sentenced 48-year-old Christine Lange of Summit on Monday. She pleaded guilty to felony theft in August.READ MORE: Investigators Raid Three Locations Of Parlor Pizza Restaurant
Lange was an account executive at Trust Company of Illinois in Downers Grove. She transferred a total of $328,000 from the accounts into her own personal bank accounts. All of the victims were in their early 90s.
Authorities began investigating after one of the victims alerted the company and local police. DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin calls the crime “despicable.” Lange was taken into custody Monday to begin serving her sentence.MORE NEWS: Chicago Weather: Showers Coming Thursday
