CHICAGO (CBS) — A 27-year-old Chicago police officer was stabbed Friday morning while making an arrest in the Eden Green neighborhood.

Police said the officer was responding to a call of a beating victim near 132nd and King around 9:30 a.m.

While he was trying to arrest a 42-year-old man at the scene, the officer was stabbed in the neck and left arm.

The officer went to an undisclosed hospital in good condition.

The man who stabbed him was in custody and charges were pending Friday afternoon.
