CHICAGO (CBS) — Carlos Zambrano made his return to the mound in Chicago Saturday night.

The former Cubs pitcher is with the new Chicago Dogs of the Independent League and had a solid, but short debut.

“Big Z” struck out two in an inning of work at Impact Field in Rosemont.

The 37-year-old is hoping to make a comeback to the big leagues as a reliever, but he hasn’t pitched in the majors since 2012.
