13 Students Injured After Pepper Spray Released At School In Cabrini Green

CHICAGO (CBS)-- Thirteen students were taken to the hospital after pepper spray was released at Ogden International School of Chicago Jenner Campus.

Police responded to the school in the 1100 block of north Cleveland Avenue just before 1 p.m. after a call of a substance sprayed.

A 12-year-old student told officials he was "dared" to spray the pepper spray in the cafeteria. He told police he sprayed into the food.

In an email to the school community, Jenner Campus principal Rebecca Bancroft said "this situation is unacceptable."

"While I am not able to share more information due to privacy concerns of students involved, please know that we are taking this situation seriously," Bancroft said.
